And simplymommeals is my little corner of the internet!
I launched simplymommeals in the spring of 2016 while I was still teaching third‑grade math in a small town in Ohio. Between grading papers and chasing two toddlers, I needed meals that were fast, wholesome, and actually tasted good. I started posting the recipes that saved my evenings on a basic WordPress blog, and I never imagined it would turn into a community.
Fast‑forward to today, the site reaches about 48,000 unique visitors each month and our newsletter boasts 13,200 hungry subscribers. In 2022 I released a free “30‑Day Mom‑Friendly Meal Planner” that has been downloaded over 7,500 times. The following year the Food Network reached out, and I contributed three recipe videos for their “Quick & Cozy” series. Those milestones have taught me that a simple idea, shared honestly, can grow far beyond a kitchen table.
I now call Asheville, North Carolina home, where I live with my husband, Alex, and our two kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not stirring a pot, you’ll find me on the Blue Ridge trail with a coffee thermos, tending to the herb garden out back, or curled up with a good mystery novel. My favorite things are fresh basil, the sound of rain on the roof, and the way a perfectly crisp apple can brighten a late‑summer salad.
If you’ve ever felt the pressure of “what’s for dinner?” I get it. That’s why I keep the recipes on simplymommeals short, ingredient‑smart, and, most importantly, delicious enough to make the whole family smile. Thanks for stopping by—let’s keep cooking together.
